Extended Biography
Nina Nicole was born to a loving, empowering, single mother in Jolliet, Illinois. In 1992, Nina and her family relocated to Atlanta Georgia. She first stepped into the entertainment spotlight at the tender age of eighteen when she signed a non-exclusive contract with a local modeling agency.
In 2001, Nina chose to pursue her dreams as an actress and immediately was cast as an extra for a restaurant scene in Rain Forrest’s “Pandora’s Box” With Monica Calhoun and Michael Jai White.
Her tenacity earned her spots in Atlanta’s annual Bronner Brothers hair shows and local media promotions and her first lead in a music video, cast by director Bryan Barber (“Idlewild”). Opportunities began to open with Mark William’s Lewd Behavior (2003), where Nina officially earned her reputation as one of Atlanta’s up and coming stars. Nina attended an early modeling casting call being held by photographer Jim Fiscus and landed the coveted spot next to rapper Ludacris in a photo shoot depicting Madame Zana in the November 2003 issue for The Source Magazine. This photograph is recognized to this day and is on display in the Vaknin Art Gallery located in Atlanta.
Following the Source magazine layout Nina was awarded a full spread in Black Men’s Magazine’s August-September 2004 fantasy woman issue, photographed by the acclaimed Shawn Dowdell. Later in 2005, Nina began to be featured on television shows airing on Comcast TV and The Black Family Channel such as “Angels Secret” in which she played a mother who saves her daughter from teen pregnancy and “Playhouse 22” as a lost prostitute who learns that her childhood friend who shared similar big dreams of success is prostituting on the same corner.
Nina has worked with critically acclaimed directors such as Tyler Perry, Robert Townsend and The Horne Brothers; under their tutelage she has grown more confident in her ability to perform. Nina has had the honor of working next to some of Hollywood’s most talented stars such as Allen Payne, Phyllis Yvonne Stickney, Lavan Davis and Cassi Davis. In 2005 Nina Nicole was cast as rapper Lil’ Zane’s love interest in Rahiem Shabazz’s “The Sun Will Rise”, where she received a nomination for best actress at the 2006 Atlanta Hip Hop film Festival. Nina starred in “The Kissing Bandit” (2007) a comedy in which she shows off her quirky sense of humor. For years Nina’s big dream was to perform at the Fox Theater in Atlanta Georgia and the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. This dream was realized in the fall of 2006 when she was cast to costar in Tyler Perry’s, “What’s Done in the Dark…Will Come to the Light”.
Determined to break new ground, she surprised her fans with dual voice-over talent performances in “The Little Sparks “(2005) and as herself in the Electronic Arts “Def jam: Icon” video game (2007). She then returned to her roots and starred in the powerful short film entitled “The Fall of Naomi” (2009) and a new hit reality series “Holidate” (2009) on the Soap Opera Network.
Nina’s growing notoriety has begun to attract the attention of notable directors and she is destined to become one of the brightest and multi-talented stars of our time.
